12-08-2012 22.00
47508 spectators arrived at
El Rayo Negro Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Evert-Jan Tieman was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Fredrik Jonasson and
Massimiliano Onorato.
People from all over
Provincia de Buenos Aires had joined up for the derby.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Negro.
The following players took the field: Josifović - Mirag, Raas, Diotalevi - Rocchia, Weurlander, Bitterberg, Gelissen, Acosta - Surgeres, Ochoa.
viaducto decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
Starters: Platonenko - Blanco, Sykuła, Urolainen, Thaitayan - Knutsen, Skovhus, Stevens, Milatović - Ristani, D'Antuono.
Negro mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
viaducto used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings.
After 14 minutes, viaducto were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise.
G. Stevens did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans.
viaducto's
P. Urolainen got himself booked for a foul.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
I. Weurlander got himself booked. The manager of Negro was not happy.
After 34 minutes, viaducto put themselves up 0 - 1, as
A. Blanco finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot.
With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 38 minutes played,
U. Rocchia of Negro made the score 1 - 1.
The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of viaducto's
M. Ristani after 40 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 1 - 2 lead.
Halftime score was 1 - 2.
Negro had most of the ball, with 57 percent of possession.
After 81 minutes Negro's
H. Gelissen had to be carried off on a stretcher in agony.
N. Gyllenskog came in to replace him.
82 minutes into the game, viaducto had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
solid.
E. Bitterberg was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for Negro with a strike from the left, but
D. Platonenko managed to ward the shot off for a corner.
Following a foul after 86 minutes, Negro got themselves a free kick just outside the penalty area.
A. Mirag levelled the scoreline - 2 - 2.
It was obvious that team Negro had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings.
They were singing the praises of
R. Acosta 87 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 3 - 2 to Negro.
Negro claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.
Negro's top performer was clearly
J. Surgeres.
On the other hand,
N. Gyllenskog's play was disheartening.
The most dominating viaducto player was without a doubt
G. Stevens.
However,
P. Urolainen made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 3 - 2.
