previous 4/10 next 6/10  Atlético 0 - 2 Zuri-k-ta (390895430)

A scorching day at Coronel Aguirre - VGG, where 19863 spectators were in place for today's match. Hélder Savedra was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Raul Sulzberger and Ceferino Baltanás. A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Atlético. They fielded: Pereira - Totti, Eriksson, 興文 (Xingwen), Uhrich - Zaratustra, Álvar, Battle, De Armas - Djura, Didonè.

Zuri-k-ta had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. The following players had been chosen: Brizuela - Ungers, Abaitua, Talsi, Pendleton - Graf von der Lippe-Biesterfeld, Massari, Makul, Manha, Soler Turmo - Fetto.

Atlético saw most attack opportunities on the wings. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Zuri-k-ta. The guests took the lead 4 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in M. Fetto scoring to make it 0 - 1. After 6 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Atlético found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to inadequate. 11 minutes into the game, Atlético seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a weak level of organisation. It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why S. Massari found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork. 33 minutes into the game, Zuri-k-ta were awarded a penalty and Á. Soler Turmo was able to increase the visitors' lead to 0 - 2 rolling the ball in by the right post. The players of Zuri-k-ta now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. A superb free kick by Atlético's L. Eriksson after 34 minutes looked like it'd reduced the lead after it hit the underside of the bar and bounced down over the line, but to the fury of the home crowd the linesman missed it - no goal! 0 - 2 was the halftime score. Zuri-k-ta claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.

The Atlético players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a solid organisation when the game started again. The Zuri-k-ta players could smell victory in the air. T. Makul wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for M. Humala after 49 minutes. F. Pereira got a fingertip on M. Fetto's shot from the left 53 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. M. Talsi left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 54 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. G. Sneekstra was the replacement. The bench was restless, and with 60 minutes passed Atlético's coach gave L. Micha the opportunity the player had been hoping for. E. Uhrich reluctantly left the field. Atlético needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 60 minutes M. De Armas made way for H. Titolo. 60 minutes into the game, Atlético had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to inadequate. As usual, J. Abaitua tried to use his strength and hard work for the benefit of the team, but the heat hit him hard and he couldn't keep pace at all. Zuri-k-ta came close to extending their lead as M. Fetto delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 87 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. Atlético were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings. After 87 minutes, Zuri-k-ta's Á. Soler Turmo fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! Possession in this half belonged to Zuri-k-ta, who controlled the ball 66 percent of the time.

Atlético's best player was C. Djura. H. Titolo was a disappointment, however. S. Massari performed admirably for Zuri-k-ta. Á. Soler Turmo turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 2.
