Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 41000 to Predator Trafford. Patrik Godby was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Per Lagerén and Eric Chavatte. Everyone was excited about the upcoming Ciudad de Buenos Aires derby and the crowd was divided evenly. Chachada tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. The following players took the field: Barrenechea - Skov, Mühlhausen, Mrdić - Ţălnar, Della Bartola, Lloclla, Davis - Gavropoulos, Patanè, Dri.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Granville. Lineup: Goryachev - Simu, Brzeski, Claret - Puig, Cummings, Gustavsson, Sils, Dressler - Richter, Svensson.

Chachada clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. D. Cummings of Granville was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. One of many good crosses from K. Davis on the wing was received and skillfully taken care of by C. Dri, who scored for Chachada. 1 - 0 A cross coming in on the right hand side left P. Svensson alone in front of the goal after 29 minutes but his shot was woeful. Cheers filled the stadium as J. Skov broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to Chachada. Chachada's H. Ţălnar swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. It was 2 - 0 at the break. Chachada claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.

Morale on the visitors' bench was greatly improved when their P. Svensson reduced the lead to make it 2 - 1 after 47 minutes, following a pass from the right. It was showtime for artist J. Richter who showed off his technical mastery when he rounded E. Mühlhausen and finished with a goal to make the score 2 - 2. Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 51 minutes into the match, and J. Richter wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 2 - 3 for the visitors. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave P. Gustavsson from Granville a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 52 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Y. Gavropoulos's knee will be throbbing for days, but thankfully for Chachada, he bravely continued in the match. G. Patanè made a superb strike after 54 minutes with a shot straight in front of the goal after a long ball through the middle, but one of the visitors' defenders got a foot in at the last second and warded it off for a corner. A drive down the left side allowed P. Svensson to get in close and score another goal for Granville after 55 minutes, taking the score to 2 - 4. In an effort to secure the lead, Granville changed their tactic after 60 minutes. After a short break after 60 minutes, Granville seemed to change their tactical approach a bit. After 64 minutes Chachada's H. Mrdić limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. The home crowd was given a certain amount of consolation when Y. Gavropoulos scored after a brilliant midfield combination through the centre, reducing the lead to 3 - 4. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Chachada, with 55 percent of the ball.

Most important Chachada player was G. Patanè. H. Ţălnar on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Granville player was without a doubt P. Svensson. D. Cummings turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 4.
