10968 spectators had come to Casta monumental this cloudy day. Jean Unspund was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Art O'Malley and Vincent Verdoes. Casta had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Chizzola - Bizzózero, Manaia, Romero, Szulfer - Videla, Vargas, Santillán, Moletto - Freyle, Avanza.

A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Laborde. They fielded: Alegre - Tourret, Jung, Redetzky - Douyère, Garbrecht, Witner, Ehrens - Angenent, Siviero, Jeleniauskis.

For their match strategy, Casta had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Laborde used their skill at pressing to cut off the attack angles of their opponents all over the field. Laborde's talent at pressing frustrated the spectators as the game became a dire midfield struggle. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave A. Freyle from Casta a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 20 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! F. Redetzky of Laborde was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. A free kick aimed at the keeper's far post almost gave Laborde the lead 29 minutes in, but the ball just wasn't able to squirm its way through the defensive wall. After 35 minutes, a long pass from Casta's A. Romero caught the defence out of position. A. Freyle collected the ball, and with the goal at his mercy calmly rolled the ball just inside the post. 1 - 0. 36 minutes into the game Laborde's V. Jeleniauskis found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 1 - 1. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 37 minutes allowed B. Jung to score for Laborde. The scoreboard now read 1 - 2. After 39 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for M. Douyère who increased Laborde's lead to 1 - 3. It was 1 - 3 at the break. Laborde claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 68 percent.

After 47 minutes, Laborde's D. Witner burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 4. After 56 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed B. Siviero to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 1 - 5. By now, the players in Laborde felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. After 66 minutes, D. Witner sent the corner kick right to H. Angenent who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1 - 6! D. Witner of Laborde took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 67 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 1 - 7. Laborde increased the lead to 1 - 8 as D. Witner scored from the penalty spot, putting the ball in near the top left corner. By then D. Witner had scored three goals - a hat trick! Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Laborde, with 62 percent of the ball.

Casta's top performer was clearly A. Freyle. E. Vargas was a disappointment, however. B. Siviero performed admirably for Laborde. On the other hand, J. Alegre's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 8.
