Douglita 1 - 5 Cúnico
(390923254)

15-07-2012 22.30
The 5541 spectators at
Miguel Morales were in for an afternoon of sunshine.
Noël Ramakers was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Andrej Zemann and
Jean-Luc Speyer.
Douglita tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
Lineup: Robledillo López - Gehl, Milone, Tallone, Allende - Tempelburg, Neme, Macchiarolla, Molina - Abalos, Valente.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Cúnico.
The following players took the field: Vilela - Fuith, Ojeda, Suurkuukka, Ramos - Niehold, Malveiro, Etchecopar, Zorrequieta - Calvimontes, Karanović.
Cúnico clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could.
2 minutes into the game,
F. Etchecopar almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
Cúnico had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 15 minutes in when
N. Karanović came up alone against
A. Robledillo López who managed a block.
Cúnico's
D. Ojeda refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 23 minutes.
The guests took the lead 34 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in
P. Ramos scoring to make it 0 - 1.
With 38 minutes gone, Cúnico had a free kick in a decent position. Despite this being a great chance for a shot, they tried a cheeky move intended to bypass the defence. However,
T. Niehold did not manage to connect with it cleanly and the ball went out.
The counterattacks of Douglita were deadly and 39 minutes into the game,
J. Tallone received a nice pass from the right flank, making it 1 - 1.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
D. Ojeda from Cúnico a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 41 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Given a free kick close to the byline, Cúnico tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
P. Ramos slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 1 - 2, 42 minutes into the game.
1 - 2 was the halftime score.
Possession in this half belonged to Cúnico, who controlled the ball 67 percent of the time.
The sun seemed to put
M. Suurkuukka in a great mood, and he showed off his technical skills all match long.
T. Niehold increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 1 - 3.
After 83 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
A. Malveiro a chance to increase the lead for Cúnico, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 4.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Cúnico lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
A. Malveiro behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 86 minutes as he gave the ball away to
C. Macchiarolla. Lucky for him though, there was no goal.
With 87 minutes played, Cúnico put themselves up 1 - 5 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
N. Zorrequieta.
After 87 minutes, Douglita's
T. Molina fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Cúnico, with 73 percent of the ball.
Douglita's top performer was clearly
J. Valente.
However,
A. Robledillo López made a disastrous appearance.
A. Calvimontes performed admirably for Cúnico.
C. Fuith was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 1 - 5.
