5847 spectators had come to Burza F.C. Arena this cloudy day. Xuban Arana was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Rory Carr and Stijn Tilmant. A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Burza. They fielded: Paez - Pilla, Luján, Manzano, Aguilera - Sosa, Montú, Garnier, Sastre - Selivanov, Machuca.

Sportivo had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Séverin - Albalà, Schep, Bryde Andersen - Schaljo, Green, Gawęda, Solís Zuleta, Toggenburger - Gomes Nogueira, Georgaras.

Sportivo displayed their ability to play creatively. The terraces were silenced after 2 minutes when Sportivo's J. Toggenburger put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right. Y. Georgaras received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 4 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The Sportivo fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. D. Machuca made a nice dash down the wing after 28 minutes, but was unable to get the cross into the box. A goal kick was awarded. Y. Georgaras could have put his team up another goal 33 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. 34 minutes into the match Sportivo's M. Schaljo head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately. With 37 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed Y. Georgaras of Sportivo to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 3. The home crowd was not impressed when J. Gomes Nogueira came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 38 minutes. Sportivo were now up 0 - 4. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Sportivo lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Y. Georgaras from Sportivo a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 39 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Burza were forced into a substitution as V. Selivanov couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing N. Silcott to come in off the bench. 0 - 4 was the score after the first half. Sportivo had most of the ball, with 69 percent of possession.

The home crowd cheered when, after 57 minutes, M. Solís Zuleta's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. J. Toggenburger's early cross saw the defenders caught out of position and the alert Y. Georgaras was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless goalkeeper to score for Sportivo. 0 - 5. At that, Y. Georgaras was noted down for a hat trick! D. Albalà increased Sportivo's lead to 0 - 6 with a superb free kick strike that flew in just under the far top corner. A penalty was awarded after 84 minutes, and D. Albalà made the most of his chance to put Sportivo up by another goal. 0 - 7 for the visitors. After 85 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave D. Albalà a chance to increase the lead for Sportivo, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 8. By then D. Albalà had scored three goals - a hat trick! Sportivo claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 71 percent.

Burza's best player was D. Machuca. On the other hand, S. Paez's play was disheartening. Y. Georgaras performed admirably for Sportivo. H. Bryde Andersen was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 8.
