Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 12000 to El Arbol Mistico. Ralf Hoogland was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Johan Hökling and Olivier Vieren. A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Hojas. The following players took the field: Daniele - Vázquez, Vallejos, Brindisi, Lauman - Pereyra, Pittau, Spadon, Newton - Cueto, Alvear.

Some great play up the middle by Hojas led to a chance for A. Alvear to score after 2 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. Hojas's S. Cueto was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 5 minutes. JCR's F. Maina had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 12 minutes having been played. C. Vázquez was the replacement. With 13 minutes played, L. De Castro of JCR fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. A questionable penalty 16 minutes in gave the home side the lead, 1 - 0. The visitors' goalie didn't stand a chance as D. Vázquez knocked the ball home. The home side's V. Spadon came close to extending the lead 17 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but L. Barclay managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. V. Spadon really should have scored when he was chosen by fate to confront a wide open goal following a great play by S. Cueto after a corner. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Hojas scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for C. Newton after 27 minutes. 2 - 0 was the halftime score. Hojas claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

With 71 minutes played, Hojas put themselves up 3 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to I. Pittau, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Hojas's I. Pittau was shown a yellow card after 74 minutes for slicing down an opponent. The visitors got one back when Y. Ahn finished off a pass from the left and scored after 80 minutes. 3 - 1 was the score. The home team's fans were upset when, after 86 minutes, the visiting H. Piersimone broke through the central defence and kicked the ball past the keeper. 3 - 2 was the score. Hojas's F. Vallejos increased the lead to 4 - 2, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 87 minutes. 88 minutes into the match, JCR replied and reduced the lead to 4 - 3. J. Pucineri scored on a marvellous cross pass coming in from the left. Possession in this half belonged to Hojas, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.

Hojas's top performer was clearly I. Pittau. M. Daniele on the other hand, had a terrible day. JCR's best player was Y. Ahn. However, L. De Castro made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 4 - 3.
