Pasqui did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans. Arawaks fans held their breath as R. Araripe scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0! Cheers filled the stadium as J. Sacks broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to Arawaks. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Arawaks lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. M. Juli was called on to replace Woermaribo's N. Casino after 40 minutes following a nasty collision. 41 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as A. Bon broke through, making the score 3 - 0 for Arawaks. Given a free kick close to the byline, Arawaks tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let P. Pasqui slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 4 - 0, 43 minutes into the game. It was 4 - 0 at the break. Arawaks enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 85 percent of possession.

Some things can only be learned through experience, and R. Araripe should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting Woermaribo a goal with 61 minutes of the match played. Coming from the right, M. Unda almost managed to score another goal for Arawaks, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. The sunny day didn't make things easy for R. Karhumäki who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch. Good work by the Arawaks defensive line after 76 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found M. Unda alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. Arawaks solidified their lead at the 78 minute mark, as R. Araripe dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 0. After 81 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by Arawaks was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options. With 83 minutes played, Arawaks put themselves up 6 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to A. Bon, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Possession in this half belonged to Arawaks, who controlled the ball 85 percent of the time.

A. Bon performed admirably for Arawaks. T. Samb turned in a dismal performance, however. Woermaribo's best player was V. Bošković. However, G. Seedorf made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 6 - 0.
