24-06-2012 22.40
Dark skies made the crowd of 37773 at
Diego Gabriel Rivarola a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Achille Haebler was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Cédric Bironneau and
Lucius Mcfarland.
The derby had been the talk of
Metropolitana all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium.
Borrachitos started off with a 5-5-0 lineup.
The following players took the field: Speck - Słociński, Arte, Rinaldi, Lastarria, Recamán - Klinting, Carbó, Millas, Rojas, Grünzer -.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for BALROGS.
Starters: Manerba - Boşorog, Cascun, Belozor - Belengué, Mansilla, Peebles, Dinesen, Parodi - Welti, Columbeanu.
Pressing was the tactic of the day for Borrachitos.
The terraces were silenced after 15 minutes when BALROGS's
G. Welti put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right.
G. Dinesen received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 20 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The BALROGS fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
After this, you could see that the players of BALROGS were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
After 31 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
A. Mansilla a chance to increase the lead for BALROGS, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 3.
After 33 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Borrachitos found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
inadequate.
After 37 minutes of game time,
D. Belengué had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but
F. Speck was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner.
It was 0 - 3 at the break.
Possession in this half belonged to BALROGS, who controlled the ball 70 percent of the time.
The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that Borrachitos had
solid organisation.
BALROGS came close to extending their lead as
G. Dinesen delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 67 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting.
F. Millas of Borrachitos seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 3 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by
A. Carbó.
BALROGS increased their lead after 79 minutes when
D. Belengué broke through on the right, upping the score to 1 - 4, much to the home crowd's dismay.
A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from
V. Columbeanu after 81 minutes, and prevented BALROGS from going up another goal.
88 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 1 - 5 as
C. Parodi finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick.

Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by BALROGS, with 75 percent of the ball.
Borrachitos's best player was
F. Speck.
E. Lastarria was a disappointment, however.
BALROGS's top performer was clearly
D. Belengué.
E. Manerba on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 1 - 6.
