Dark skies made the crowd of 39411 at El Dream Arena, Dekos Stadium a little nervous, but the rain held off. Mikael Ångbeck was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Kaj Thybo and Dries Buikstra. Today, Payback's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks. It was obvious that Payback had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. 7 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but D. Wenman, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. At 27 minutes played, M. Donvito came in from the right with the intention of giving Futbol the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar. The corner kick from L. Schopfer was powerfully met by the head of G. Wolfson to make the score 0 - 1. Payback's G. Wolfson made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 37 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. Futbol mounted an inspired counterattack down the right wing after 38 minutes, but M. Donvito was unable to convert from short range. With 42 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed I. Grigore of Payback to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 2. 43 minutes in, Payback's I. Grigore received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. 0 - 2 was the halftime score. Payback enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.

Payback increased their lead after 56 minutes when J. Jacquat broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay. The referee showed Payback's N. Jenshøj the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. N. Jenshøj left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 60 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. L. de Rijke was the replacement. With 67 minutes played, Payback put themselves up 0 - 4 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was D. Broner. After this, you could see that the players of Payback were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. Payback had most of the ball, with 57 percent of possession.

Futbol's top performer was clearly M. Donvito. A. Zamorano was a disappointment, however. I. Grigore performed admirably for Payback. D. Wenman turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 4.
