The crowd of 47748 turning up at Dinamita Juniors Arena today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Sökmen Temiz was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Simon Roland-Lévy and Raul Muscalu. Pata decided to use a 2-5-3 set up. They fielded: Lambarri - Marco, Mimica - Marangozov, Alcaíno, Cardaveras, Boonen, Vizcaya - Galindo, Basay, Maravillas.

Fantasma had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Rial - Priest, Mesina, Atienza - Fragkiskos, Alegría, Loetz, Quilapan, Schleritzko - Guarch, Machado.

Many thought G. Maravillas ought to have been awarded a penalty 19 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around T. Rial after a determined run through the middle. As R. Atienza had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the Fantasma player a red card without batting an eyelid. M. Vizcaya of Pata had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game. E. Sotomayor came in to finish the match. 23 minutes into the game, R. Machado almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Pata took the lead 24 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as G. Maravillas elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. 1 - 0 was the halftime score. Pata claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

Pata solidified their lead at the 53 minute mark, as J. Basay dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 2 - 0. Pata's J. Boonen got himself booked for a foul. After 59 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and A. Marangozov gave the Pata supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 3 - 0. I. Alcaíno could have increased the lead after 61 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. After 63 minutes Pata's I. Cardaveras limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. E. Sotomayor was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace. A late sliding challenge from J. Boonen was deemed to be his second yellow card offence by the referee, resulting in him being sent off, and Pata left a man down. Pata's I. Alcaíno saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 75 minutes. Fantasma had to make a substitution after 78 minutes. T. Rial limped off the field and was replaced by E. Wiesmeier. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Fantasma, with 53 percent of the ball.

The most dominating Pata player was without a doubt F. Galindo. On the other hand, A. Marangozov's play was disheartening. S. Guarch performed admirably for Fantasma. However, E. Wiesmeier made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 0.
