previous 5/10 next 7/10  Waterfoot 12 - 0 Platapapán (391229889)

22478 spectators arrived at Waterfooting, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Jörgen Ovesson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Anton Petrushin and Tomislav Svatoš. Waterfoot had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Marku - Freire, Nowocień, Thies - Vallespir, Sucriloz, Valenzuela, Konetzke, Dietesheim - Begly, Cerqueira.

Platapapán tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. The following players took the field: Moena - Sheffield, Rosasco, Valdivia, Alemparte - Nielsen, Laso de la Vega, Moscoso, Toro - Velquen, Maldonado.

Waterfoot clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. They were singing the praises of B. Konetzke 17 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Waterfoot. After 26 minutes, T. Dietesheim put Waterfoot ahead 2 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. Waterfoot's D. Cerqueira finished emphatically to make the score 3 -0 after 30 minutes, after the enigmatic A. Valenzuela pulled a delightful long pass from his box of tricks to bypass the defence. Cheers filled the stadium as B. Konetzke broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 0 to Waterfoot. Confident in their lead, Waterfoot's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Waterfoot managed to extend their lead to 5 - 0 when R. Begly cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. S. Alemparte still has a lot to learn. For instance, he should know not to make half-hearted passes in front of M. Vallespir, who easily scored for Waterfoot, making it 6 - 0. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Waterfoot's F. Sucriloz increasing the lead to 7 - 0. It was 7 - 0 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Waterfoot, who controlled the ball 84 percent of the time.

A well-executed free kick by B. Konetzke after 49 minutes made it 8 - 0 for Waterfoot. This third goal completed a hattrick for B. Konetzke. D. Cerqueira wanted to play on, but the Waterfoot coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 60 minutes into the game by C. Stan. W. Nowocień was the new captain of Waterfoot - handed the armband by the departing player. The Waterfoot players could smell victory in the air. W. Nowocień wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for P. Darłak after 60 minutes. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, T. Dietesheim took over the role of being the Waterfoot captain. The coach of Waterfoot was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 60 minutes, E. Thomas came on for T. Dietesheim. The Waterfoot captaincy was handed to I. Freire. Waterfoot increased the lead as B. Konetzke struck to make the score 9 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. E. Thomas squirmed through their central defence after 66 minutes, increasing the lead to 10 - 0. Waterfoot's C. Stan proved that he's been around on a football pitch before, when he took advantage of a few moments of confusion in the opposition's defensive line and elegantly scored for 11 - 0. Waterfoot solidified their lead at the 71 minute mark, as R. Begly dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 12 - 0. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Waterfoot, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. R. Begly had a fantastic opportunity to put Waterfoot up another goal 72 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. Waterfoot had most of the ball, with 86 percent of possession.

Waterfoot's top performer was clearly M. Vallespir. T. Marku was a disappointment, however. Most important Platapapán player was J. Velquen. However, M. Sheffield made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 12 - 0.
