Clouds darkened the skies at
A PURO HUEVO´S ARENA as 20000 spectators turned up for the match.
Gabriel Arnăutu was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
李 (Li) 航任 (Hangren) and
Alan Cantwell.
The derby had been the talk of
Metropolitana all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium.
Huevo decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Starters: Zanca - Lalík, Cerfontaine, Arnault - Kleinhansl, Marshall, van Praag, Freixó, Sosa - Falvai, Torres.
Black had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
Lineup: Albert - Hamar, Vouzas, Monhait - Roa, Pieroni, Hrstka, Palma, Grosu - Statham, Martin.
Huevo seemed to prefer attacking in the middle.
A penalty was given after 11 minutes, allowing the visitors to gain the lead: 0 - 1.
V. Vouzas was the scorer.
Black's
D. Monhait left the field after 13 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
P. Andersson.
The home crowd was not impressed when
J. Roa came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 18 minutes. Black were now up 0 - 2.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Black lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
After 39 minutes,
K. Lalík sent the corner kick right to
H. Kleinhansl who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1 - 2!
Black increased their lead after 43 minutes when
R. Grosu broke through on the right, upping the score to 1 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay.
M. Sosa made one of his many fine passes from the wing into the middle 43 minutes into the match.
H. Kleinhansl bravely attempted to execute a diving header and the ball was met firmly with his forehead for Huevo. 2 - 3.
Had it not been for one of the home defenders,
J. Roa would have put Black up another goal 44 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing.
Halftime score was 2 - 3.
Black claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 66 percent.
The coach of Black was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 46 minutes,
C. Mansour came on for
R. Grosu.
The Black players could smell victory in the air.
O. Statham wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
E. Ebarhimi after 60 minutes.
E. Ebarhimi was the new captain of Black - handed the armband by the departing player.
With 63 minutes played, Black put themselves up 2 - 4 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
I. Hrstka.
A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from
C. Mansour after 64 minutes, and prevented Black from going up another goal.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Black, with 67 percent of the ball.
Huevo's best player was
G. van Praag.
On the other hand,
S. Arnault's play was disheartening.
Most important Black player was
I. Hrstka.
H. Albert turned in a dismal performance, however.
