Clear skies welcomed the 35767 spectators who had made their way to Red Wall Arena. Bob Topsch was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Román Matapozuelos and Paul Bergh. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for HalconesFC. After 15 minutes, Atlético sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached F. Campos, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 1 - 0. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave H. Knigge from HalconesFC a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 17 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! A loud groan was heard from the fans of Atlético, as M. Rabatkevich left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. A. Cymek took his place on the field. Coming from the right, C. Mac Auliffe almost managed to score another goal for Atlético, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Atlético scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for C. Mac Auliffe after 23 minutes. Confident in their lead, Atlético's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Cheers filled the stadium as L. Erčulj broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to Atlético. Atlético's F. Campos got himself booked for a foul. 3 - 0 was the score after the first half. Atlético claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 80 percent.

Atlético's L. Erčulj increased the lead to 4 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 58 minutes. R. Kubát could have increased the lead after 70 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. With 71 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of HalconesFC resulted in a counterattack that set H. Knigge free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. A. Pusceddu should probably have put his team up another goal after 72 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by A. Kavalír kept the visitors in the game. Atlético solidified their lead at the 75 minute mark, as R. Kubát dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 0. The home side's C. Mac Auliffe curled a free kick home after 81 minutes, putting Atlético ahead 6 - 0. Atlético enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 80 percent of possession.

The most dominating Atlético player was without a doubt F. Campos. A. Cymek was a disappointment, however. N. Pavčnik performed admirably for HalconesFC. However, A. Kavalír made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 6 - 0.
