previous 4/4 next 2/4  Doux 0 - 2 Valdiviano (391248758)

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 11324 had shown up at Caja de pandora for the match. Noah Åberg was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Roberts Calmans and Mikael Svensson. Doux tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Jouannet - Cornejo, Young, Suhor - Whittle, van Ierschot, Orxe, Stanojković, Bustos - Brizuela, Gorostizaga.

Valdiviano started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Carson - Vandewaetere, Báez, Klyukov - Iparraguirre, Paredes, Cea Bueno, Multerer, Efterle - Gorla, Blagoev.

It was an obvious ambition of Doux to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. Valdiviano displayed their ability to play creatively. Doux's M. Whittle was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 12 minutes. The terraces were silenced after 37 minutes when Valdiviano's V. Blagoev put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right. Halftime score was 0 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Doux, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.

With 55 minutes played, Valdiviano put themselves up 0 - 2 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was C. Gorla. T. van Ierschot of Doux received a yellow card after 56 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After 67 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by Doux was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Valdiviano coach let G. Paevskiy replace J. Efterle after 70 minutes. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave G. Paevskiy from Valdiviano a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 77 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! The Valdiviano players could smell victory in the air. V. Blagoev wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for E. Meléndez after 80 minutes. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Doux, with 51 percent of the ball.

The most dominating Doux player was without a doubt J. Stanojković. A. Jouannet on the other hand, had a terrible day. Valdiviano's best player was A. Paredes. C. Gorla was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 2.
