Clear skies welcomed the 29018 spectators who had made their way to
The Cave.
Anton-Michael Hacke-Dicht was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Alex Saarup and
Ole Brøgger Andersen.
WhiteWolves decided to use a 4-5-1 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Porter - Ceva, Balestri, Pijanowski, Pilibavičius - Marcucci, Renaud, Glaria, Tumbakov, Wyatt - Heubach.
Choclo tactics involved an interesting 4-3-3 combination.
They fielded: Demirbüken - Antheunis, Habel, Franik, Dziergowski - Thévenard, Zalavári, Trifu - Lehel, Larizza, Confraria.
WhiteWolves were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks.
Choclo demonstrated their creative tactics on the field.
WhiteWolves fans held their breath as
J. Glaria scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0!
T. Heubach could have increased the lead after 24 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
With 29 minutes played,
B. Confraria of Choclo fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
M. Marcucci could have put WhiteWolves up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 30 minutes.
With 36 minutes played, WhiteWolves put themselves up 2 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
T. Heubach, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of WhiteWolves lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
M. Wyatt caught everyone off guard with a great opening pass - but unfortunately
M. Marcucci was as surprised by the move as anybody else, and managed to miss the extraordinary opportunity.
It was 2 - 0 at the break.
Possession in this half belonged to WhiteWolves, who controlled the ball 75 percent of the time.
M. Wyatt's curling free kick almost found the goal for WhiteWolves, but the visitors' keeper somehow managed to get ahold of it.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
M. Wyatt got himself booked. The manager of WhiteWolves was not happy.
After 62 minutes, WhiteWolves raised their score by one when
M. Marcucci's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by
T. Heubach. 3 - 0.
After 63 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by WhiteWolves was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of WhiteWolves to 4 - 0 as
M. Marcucci finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by WhiteWolves, with 76 percent of the ball.
The most dominating WhiteWolves player was without a doubt
S. Balestri.
On the other hand,
J. Glaria's play was disheartening.
Choclo's top performer was clearly
T. Lehel.
However,
Z. Zalavári made a disastrous appearance.
