24-06-2012 22.40
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 20320 to
Cancha Carlos Mahns.
Jérôme Hermant was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ernst Schwab and
Petar Parić.
Paperos tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Angiulli - Răducu, Bolognesi, Donkov, Gagliardini, Maturana - Mekcsey, Faarinen, Muñoz, Huismann - Parra.
SausaLapa started off with a 3-4-3 lineup.
Lineup: Delija - Van Den Abeele, Rageth, Sepúlveda - Carrasco, Quadra-Salcedo, Panattoni, Biedma - Bañados, Todorov, Paul.
Paperos showed off their creative tactics.
SausaLapa saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
SausaLapa had to make a substitution after 8 minutes.
A. Biedma limped off the field and was replaced by
P. Manosalva.
Paperos's
J. Parra tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders.
Making his way up the middle 12 minutes into the match,
J. Parra almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert
G. Delija blocked it to keep the score level.
Paperos got a penalty shot 16 minutes into the game, but
G. Bolognesi scuffed the shot slightly and
G. Delija was able to block.
Many thought
J. Parra ought to have been awarded a penalty 17 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around
G. Delija after a determined run through the middle.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
P. Rageth got himself booked. The manager of SausaLapa was not happy.
0 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Paperos, with 73 percent of the ball.
B. Donkov of Paperos seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 0 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by
G. Bolognesi.
The home side's
J. Parra came close to extending the lead 71 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but
G. Delija managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop.
Paperos's
B. Donkov got himself booked for a foul.
Paperos's
E. Muñoz saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 87 minutes.
A great save by keeper
G. Delija after 88 minutes kept the visitors in the game after
J. Parra struck from the left with a real cannonball.
89 minutes in, Paperos's
R. Maturana received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
F. Răducu received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 89 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score.
Coming from the right,
V. Faarinen almost managed to score another goal for Paperos, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Paperos to 2 - 0 as
J. Parra finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
Possession in this half belonged to Paperos, who controlled the ball 74 percent of the time.
The most dominating Paperos player was without a doubt
J. Parra.
On the other hand,
B. Mekcsey's play was disheartening.
SausaLapa's top performer was clearly
A. Bañados.
However,
L. Van Den Abeele made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 2 - 0.
