Satyr 0 - 5 Criptor (391425674)

Dark skies made the crowd of 10205 at Satyr FC Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Armin Stein was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Willard Jeffries and János Endrõdi. Satyr tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Fonseca - Irisarri, Otaiza, Cordero, Elizondo - Tindall, Zamorano, Piñones, Polo - Montes, Albano.

Criptor started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. Starters: Salinas - Blanco, Frutos, Andueza, Alvarado - Ibarboure, Somoza, Calvo, Ulloa - Peraza, Osorio.

F. Calvo of Criptor seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 0 - 1 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by J. Blanco. C. Somoza of Criptor took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 8 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 2. 10 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 3 as J. Osorio finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. Criptor came close to extending their lead as F. Alvarado delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 28 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. 29 minutes into the match, J. Blanco came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. 0 - 3 was the halftime score. Satyr had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

After 53 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed S. Ibarboure to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 4. A drive down the left side allowed S. Ibarboure to get in close and score another goal for Criptor after 69 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 5. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Criptor lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. There was concern in the stands when, at the 77 minute mark, Criptor's P. Salinas hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. With the scoreboard showing that 78 minutes had been played, Criptor nearly put themselves up another goal after F. Alvarado came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave J. Blanco from Criptor a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 80 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! A loud groan was heard from the fans of Satyr, as W. Montes left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. R. Llana took his place on the field. Some things can only be learned through experience, and L. Piñones should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting Criptor a goal with 82 minutes of the match played. After 85 minutes, R. Llana had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for Satyr with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar. Satyr enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.

Most important Satyr player was J. Tindall. F. Otaiza was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Criptor player was without a doubt A. Peraza. P. Salinas on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 5.
