Clouds darkened the skies at Arena FC Leones 1974 as 29708 spectators turned up for the match. Grigoras Dumitrescu was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Henrik Oxstad and Isadoro Caamaño. FCL decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The wings were the focus of most of PerroFC's attacks today. 12 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for FCL to take the lead after a good cross from the right found M. Mastropietro alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. Slack defending gave FCL a chance to take the lead with 14 minutes played, but F. Vrisekoop's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition. 0 - 0 was the halftime score. FCL enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.

FCL could have put themselves ahead after 51 minutes but T. Savouridis missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. C. Dorne would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. A. Calabrese entered the game for FCL as the match clock showed 55 minutes. Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 68 minutes into the match, and A. Oprzędkiewicz wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors. After 69 minutes, V. Atamer got through on the right and was very close to equalising for the home side, but didn't get the shot away. With the crowd on their feet chanting wildly, some great moves down the right hand side after 70 minutes gave FCL a wonderful opportunity to level the score, and F. Vrisekoop stepped up to the challenge. 1 - 1 V. Saaranen of PerroFC received a yellow card after 71 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. FCL had a chance to take the lead after M. Mastropietro's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 72 minutes. 80 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a FCL substitution. F. Zarbo came on for F. Vrisekoop. FCL claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

V. Atamer performed admirably for FCL. V. Kúrnachev on the other hand, had a terrible day. PerroFC's top performer was clearly C. Urbanz. J. Gutiérrez was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 1.
