Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 67448 to Casa Caiada. Mikael Svensson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Sebas Blanckers and Dimitry Pister. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Olinda. They fielded: Lehmann - Magnusson, Koivupalo, Puggioni - Indrašius, Demmers, de Vries, Almanza, Gambino - Vaghi, Giannini.

Predião had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Starters: Vannieuwkerke - Pantoja, Ceva, Kallevik, MacAulay - Issa, Calixto, Borges, Alfaia - Cardia, Morin.

For their match strategy, Predião had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Olinda had a good opportunity to take the lead as E. Vaghi came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of K. Vannieuwkerke. Olinda were awarded a penalty 23 minutes into the game but A. Koivupalo produced a poor shot, quite easily saved by K. Vannieuwkerke. Good work by the Predião defensive line after 24 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found T. Issa alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. L. Almanza sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from A. Koivupalo after 30 minutes of play, making the score 1 - 0. Coming from the right, E. Vaghi almost managed to score another goal for Olinda, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. Halftime score was 1 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Olinda, who controlled the ball 63 percent of the time.

With 51 minutes played, J. Indrašius could have brought this one home for Olinda as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. Predião showed their counterattack skill 52 minutes into the match by breaking through the middle, with D. Borges scoring uncontested for 1 - 1. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to A. Koivupalo, but the Olinda player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 2 - 1! T. Solem was called on to replace Olinda's D. de Vries after 59 minutes following a nasty collision. It was showtime for artist E. Vaghi who showed off his technical mastery when he rounded E. Pantoja and finished with a goal to make the score 3 - 1. Ater 67 minutes J. Morin seized on an opportunistic attack from the right, and scored for Predião making it 3 - 2. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Predião's J. Alfaia was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 70 minutes. F. Pindaíba was given a chance to change things around. An equalising goal seemed certain after 74 minutes when A. Cardia attacked down the left wing, but D. Lehmann just managed to make a save to keep the ball out of the net. 81 minutes into the match, the speedy J. Morin easily outpaced R. Magnusson, chipped the keeper and made the score 3 - 3. Olinda enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.

Olinda's best player was E. Vaghi. T. Solem turned in a dismal performance, however. Predião's top performer was clearly A. Cardia. However, C. MacAulay made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 3.
