27-08-2012 00.00
Clouds darkened the skies at
ALÇAPÃO MONUMENTAL as 40598 spectators turned up for the match.
Francisco Quintero was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Iacob Firicã and
Antonio Salles.
TINOCA decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Sánchez - Monteiro, Koster, Bianco - Castillo, Dror, Quijano, Lovrak, Schwirkschlies - Skjulhaug, Monte.
Blekaute tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
They fielded: Zverau - Schmüsch, Figueredo, Alageyik - Braškić, Heard, Kurczaba, Cesarski, Al-Khanbashy - Ekstrand, Picatto.
Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for TINOCA.
Blekaute seemed to prefer attacking in the middle.
5 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for TINOCA to take the lead after a good cross from the right found
T. Skjulhaug alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post.
TINOCA took the lead 18 minutes in, as
M. Monteiro broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper.
After 20 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
T. Skjulhaug might have resulted in another goal for TINOCA. However,
J. Zverau made a spectacular save.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0.
TINOCA claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 61 percent.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in TINOCA's
B. Schwirkschlies increasing the lead to 2 - 0.
After 51 minutes, TINOCA's
O. Koster fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
TINOCA had to make a substitution after 67 minutes.
G. Lovrak limped off the field and was replaced by
M. Oñate.
V. Quijano increased the lead for TINOCA to 3 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
Blekaute had a fair chance to reply after 80 minutes due to some fine moves down the left, but in the end
D. Braškić was slow to keep up with the play and was unable to make it into the penalty box to apply a finish.
V. Quijano could have put TINOCA up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 81 minutes.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by TINOCA, with 60 percent of the ball.
The most dominating TINOCA player was without a doubt
T. Skjulhaug.
M. Monteiro turned in a dismal performance, however.
Most important Blekaute player was
L. Picatto.
D. Braškić was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 3 - 0.
