Cruzeiro took the lead after 2 minutes as a result of
M. Köszegi's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0.
N. Sirko increased the lead for Cruzeiro to 2 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
34 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
N. Sirko broke through, making the score 3 - 0 for Cruzeiro.
After this, you could see that the players of Cruzeiro were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
39 minutes into the game, Cruzeiro seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
wretched level of organisation.
Cruzeiro solidified their lead at the 40 minute mark, as
N. Sirko dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 0.
That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for
N. Sirko.
Cruzeiro's
J. Ďurčak had an excellent opportunity after 41 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles!

The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that Cruzeiro had
passable organisation.
Cheers filled the stadium as
N. Sirko broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 6 - 0 to Cruzeiro.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
A. Nantes squirmed through their central defence after 59 minutes, increasing the lead to 7 - 0.

Cruzeiro's best player was
