However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Some things can only be learned through experience, and R. Viñuela should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting Aston a goal with 27 minutes of the match played. D. Mikos should probably have put his team up another goal after 30 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by J. Minelli kept the visitors in the game. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Aston scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for P. Åhlhall after 32 minutes. Aston's F. Malarczyk was shown a yellow card after 33 minutes for slicing down an opponent. 38 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as P. Åhlhall broke through, making the score 3 - 0 for Aston. This third goal completed a hattrick for P. Åhlhall. It was 3 - 0 at the break. Aston had most of the ball, with 71 percent of possession.

I. Boran struck a 30 metre free kick home 66 minutes into the match. 4 - 0 for the home team. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Aston lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. L. da Silva squirmed through their central defence after 77 minutes, increasing the lead to 5 - 0. Aston players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. P. Åhlhall had a fantastic opportunity to put Aston up another goal 78 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Aston's J. Lopes increasing the lead to 6 - 0. Aston claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 75 percent.

Most important Aston player was B. Marhuľa. A. Zuppinger was a disappointment, however. I. Marquès performed admirably for Fogopedia. R. Viñuela turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 6 - 0.
