(391598441)

02-07-2012 00.00
28232 punters turned up at
Onze de Junho I, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Martino Rendic was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Juha-Matti Liukkonen and
Juan Miguel Lambarrie.
Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this
São Paulo derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents.
Junho decided to use a 3-4-3 set up.
The following players took the field: Medley - De Maio, Seker, Espinosa - Merckx, Vainiušas, Descamps, Samaniego - Aguiar, Castellano, Vichy.
BIXIXIRI started off with a 4-3-3 lineup.
Starters: Olofsson - Tío Sánchez, Mueßer, Puyol, Hazard - Bąbik, Barnetta, Kawończyk - Corsten, Woldeck, Victorero.
Junho decided to play creatively.
Junho took the lead 2 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as
A. Castellano elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar.
A corner kick created great disorder in the penalty area with a goal nearly scored by
D. Corsten. At last, BIXIXIRI's
N. Victorero was able to backheel the ball in. 1 - 1.
With 20 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending.
J. Bąbik put the ball away for 1 - 2.
After 26 minutes,
R. Aguiar sent the corner kick right to
J. Merckx who headed it sharply past the keeper. 2 - 2!
They were singing the praises of
J. Merckx 29 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 3 - 2 to Junho.
Junho solidified their lead at the 32 minute mark, as
K. Vichy dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 2.
4 - 2 was the halftime score.
Possession in this half belonged to Junho, who controlled the ball 61 percent of the time.
R. Samaniego of Junho was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
The coach of Junho was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 75 minutes,
A. Savov came on for
P. Medley.
A. Castellano became the new Junho captain.
Junho's
G. De Maio increased the lead to 5 - 2, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 75 minutes.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
K. Vainiušas squirmed through their central defence after 87 minutes, increasing the lead to 6 - 2.
Confident in their lead, Junho's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
Coming from the right,
R. Aguiar almost managed to score another goal for Junho, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper.
R. Samaniego remonstrated furiously with the referee after Junho had another decision go against them. The referee had no alternative but to show him another yellow card and send him from the pitch.
BIXIXIRI claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
K. Vichy performed admirably for Junho.
On the other hand,
R. Espinosa's play was disheartening.
The most dominating BIXIXIRI player was without a doubt
L. Woldeck.
A. Olofsson was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 6 - 2.
