It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 12000 that came out to
BIXICHUNG ARENA.
Ignacio Castromán was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Mikhail Polyakov and
Mirko Kamm.
BIXIXIRI had chosen a strategic 4-3-3 formation.
Starters: Olofsson - Tío Sánchez, Mueßer, Puyol, Siriwittaya - Preiner, Barnetta, Kawończyk - Corsten, Woldeck, Victorero.
Fujitaum tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination.
They fielded: Jato - Couto Mello, Johannessen, Carneiro - Nuotio, Räty, Ognyanov, Montenegro - da Fonseca, Schlaning, Candelária.
Fujitaum mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
E. Couto Mello delivered a good free kick from an excellent position 6 minutes into the game, but luck wasn't on Fujitaum's side this time and the ball went wide.
The referee showed BIXIXIRI's
F. Tío Sánchez the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
A loud groan was heard from the fans of Fujitaum, as
J. Schlaning left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match.
R. Priego took his place on the field.
It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why
É. Candelária found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork.
M. Räty had a good try after 24 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide.
Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 35 minutes into the match left Fujitaum's
J. Nuotio completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
G. Ognyanov got himself booked. The manager of Fujitaum was not happy.
N. da Fonseca received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 38 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The Fujitaum fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2.
Possession in this half belonged to Fujitaum, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.
Fujitaum players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead.
N. Carneiro was, after 53 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper
A. Olofsson made the save.
The Fujitaum free kick 54 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
J. Nuotio, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 0 - 3!
The visitors almost increased their lead after 69 minutes when a sweetly hit free kick looked like it was heading for the top corner. However the keeper managed to get a fingertip to it, sending it over the bar.
BIXIXIRI's
L. Woldeck got himself booked for a foul.
Fujitaum claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.
The most dominating BIXIXIRI player was without a doubt
L. Woldeck.
U. Preiner turned in a dismal performance, however.
Fujitaum's top performer was clearly
É. Candelária.
R. Priego was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 0 - 3.
