previous 10/10 next 2/10  CRAQUEZINHO 0 - 4 Fla (391610114)

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Estádio Olímpico João Havelange (Engenhão) saw a crowd turnout of 19290. Harald Mosskär was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Petrut Ilinca and Helmut Euwe. CRAQUEZINHO tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. Lineup: Ascurra - Herregodts, Lovrin, Santos Mota, Zagnan - Klint, Tomruk, Khamidullin, Di Puorto, 孝維 (Xiaowei) - Wattenhofer.

Fla had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Gnatalli - Sanz Mateo, Biscaya, Van Osselaer - Brokuła, Czesak, Hanada, Ceccotti, Tanini - Revshøj, Neptun.

For their match strategy, CRAQUEZINHO had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Today, Fla's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks. 28 minutes in, CRAQUEZINHO's S. Zagnan received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Fla, as N. Van Osselaer left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. L. Bonete took his place on the field. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Fla's J. Neptun after 30 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead. J. Revshøj's speed was clear to see after 35 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released J. Neptun who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 0 - 2. 41 minutes into the game, Fla worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. Attacking on the wings was the choice for Fla, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. After the ball was lifted in from the left, L. Bonete was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 42 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. 0 - 2 was the score after the first half. Fla claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.

CRAQUEZINHO needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 46 minutes W. Wattenhofer made way for J. Duinmayer. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Fla coach let V. Basciutto replace É. Gnatalli after 57 minutes. O. Hanada left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 57 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. P. Ellinger was the replacement. Some things can only be learned through experience, and D. Czesak should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting CRAQUEZINHO a goal with 58 minutes of the match played. A. Ascurra got a fingertip on A. Biscaya's shot from the left 81 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. With the clock showing 82 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of CRAQUEZINHO resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by S. Zagnan in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. Players in Fla heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. After 85 minutes of game time, A. Tanini had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but A. Ascurra was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. An indecisive keeper looked on as a free kick by Fla's A. Tanini put the visitors up 0 - 3 after 86 minutes. The referee signalled a penalty 87 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box. A. Tanini knocked it home to make the score 0 - 4. Confident in their lead, Fla's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Possession in this half belonged to Fla, who controlled the ball 61 percent of the time.

CRAQUEZINHO's best player was J. Duinmayer. K. Khamidullin on the other hand, had a terrible day. Fla's top performer was clearly F. Ceccotti. On the other hand, L. Bonete's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 4.
