Garrat should probably have put his team up another goal after 41 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by O. Rochinha kept the visitors in the game. After 42 minutes Petropolense's A. Garrat contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. With 43 minutes played, Petropolense's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to A. Garrat he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 3 - 1. By now, the players in Petropolense felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 1. Petropolense claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 66 percent.

After 52 minutes, 徐. 书唯 (Shuwei) put Petropolense ahead 4 - 1 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. After 57 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and C. Infante gave the Petropolense supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 5 - 1. A penalty 75 minutes into the game gave the home side a chance at adding to the score, but an overconfident F.
