Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 4471 to
JARDIM VISTALEGRE Arena.
Fredrik ''Gillis'' Yngvesson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Julio Yanguas and
Elton Schmitt.
VISTALEGRE started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
Starters: de Aguiar - Reizinho, Freire Melo, Nicolazzi, Ramírez - Spartacco, Redondo, Botelho, Manfio - Furacão, Silva Leme.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Thiago.
They fielded: Tibiriçá - Hermes, Souza Cunha, Rubens, Castijo - Duprat, Carioca, Rondon, Mandarin - Crostalo, 畠山 (Hatakeyama).
With 2 minutes played
H. Reizinho almost gave the home side the lead with an unexpected free kick set up, but the visitors'
J. Tibiriçá was onto it, grabbing the would be breakthrough ball.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
L. Botelho, but the VISTALEGRE player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0!
The home side's
L. Botelho came close to extending the lead 21 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but
J. Tibiriçá managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop.
Thiago earned themselves a free kick after a counterattack wasn't dealt with adequately by their opponents.
O. Hermes powered the shot in for 1 - 1.
With 24 minutes played,
S. Furacão of VISTALEGRE fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
VISTALEGRE had a good opportunity to take the lead as
S. Furacão came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of
J. Tibiriçá.
1 - 1 was the score after the first half.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by VISTALEGRE, with 58 percent of the ball.
1 - 2 was the score with 58 minutes played, after
I. Carioca cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Thiago.
E. Nicolazzi behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 72 minutes as he gave the ball away to
澄. 畠山 (Hatakeyama). Lucky for him though, there was no goal.
There was concern in the stands when, at the 77 minute mark, Thiago's
J. Crostalo hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch.
With 78 minutes played, VISTALEGRE's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
I. Ramírez he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 2 - 2.
VISTALEGRE had a chance to take the lead after
L. Botelho's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 85 minutes.
After 86 minutes VISTALEGRE's
L. Botelho contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
I. Carioca from Thiago a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 88 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
VISTALEGRE had most of the ball, with 65 percent of possession.
F. Silva Leme performed admirably for VISTALEGRE.
A. de Aguiar on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The most dominating Thiago player was without a doubt
G. Mandarin.
I. Carioca was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 2 - 2.
