previous 10/10 next 2/10  M-U-F-C 3 - 0 Monticello (391720237)

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and The 0ld Traford saw a crowd turnout of 53285. Mathies Rückauf was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Michał Durlej and Aidis Prātnieks. Everyone was excited about the upcoming Panama derby and the crowd was divided evenly. M-U-F-C had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. The following players took the field: Ferreira - Masko, Lauterbourg, Pauli-Pitschetsrieder, Lachenschmid - Laggner, Salinas, Crippa, Häggbom - Żero, Labeeuw.

Monticello tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. Starters: Guillot - Rubio, Tramier, Rušev, Hassink - Olivera, de Ruyter, Aoi, Spaans - Bujnicki, Csont.

M-U-F-C clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Monticello. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to N. Pauli-Pitschetsrieder, but the M-U-F-C player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! It was obvious that team M-U-F-C had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. Cheers filled the stadium as M. Masko broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to M-U-F-C. At this point, it was obvious that the players of M-U-F-C lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. 2 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by M-U-F-C, with 64 percent of the ball.

Against a lesser team, M-U-F-C could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 76 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save. With 83 minutes played, M-U-F-C's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to S. Häggbom he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 3 - 0. M-U-F-C enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 66 percent of possession.

M-U-F-C's top performer was clearly C. Laggner. D. Lauterbourg turned in a dismal performance, however. Monticello's best player was N. Aoi. L. Olivera was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 0.
