Clear skies welcomed the 40648 spectators who had made their way to CRAZY GREEN STADIUM. Lars Strandgren was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Marius Paraschiv and Jacobus Pelk. Univalle tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Barloo - Kriftel, Giraldo, Mordelet - Isaacs, Másmela, Albañil, Sandoval, Ricaurte - Siti, Brikmanis.

Percantas started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Sloan - Cascos, Cianni, Ferreira - Cuenca, Higuera, Kronhult, Peña, Vélez - Téllez, Romero.

D. Kriftel of Univalle received a yellow card after 21 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Univalle made it 1 - 0 as H. Brikmanis got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to N. Siti who whipped a low drive in off the far post. H. Giraldo should probably have put his team up another goal after 33 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by M. Sloan kept the visitors in the game. 37 minutes into the match the visitors levelled the score at 1 - 1 as S. Téllez struck home from a rebound off the crossbar, following a shot from the right. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, M. Mordelet got himself booked. The manager of Univalle was not happy. Percantas's J. Cascos got himself booked for a foul. A. Kronhult caused mayhem in his own defensive line with some mad dribbles within his own penalty zone, but Univalle's A. Isaacs's shot went just wide. 1 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Univalle, with 52 percent of the ball.

Univalle could have put themselves ahead after 52 minutes but H. Brikmanis missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. After some beautiful movement down the left wing, H. Brikmanis scored for Univalle putting them ahead 2 - 1, after 54 minutes. H. Giraldo could have put Univalle up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 59 minutes. The visiting team's R. Higuera was able to score the 2 - 2 equaliser with a header 73 minutes into the match, after some good work on the right. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to D. Kriftel, but the Univalle player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 3 - 2! With 85 minutes played, N. Siti could have brought this one home for Univalle as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. Univalle enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.

A. Barloo performed admirably for Univalle. M. Mordelet was a disappointment, however. Percantas's top performer was clearly F. Romero. A. Cuenca turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 2.
