12000 spectators had found their way to
Avalòn Stadium, despite the heavy rain.
Arno Niemand was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Andreas Cotta and
Marius Stufosu.
Sr_JhonnyG decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
Starters: Múnera - Bonanno, Viola, Acero, Rentería - Luzardo, Zúñiga, Herreño, Durán - Castro, Pulido.
naranja had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Solnado - Suszter, Urango, Weiss - Nascio, Dobroszek, Zanassi, Mateus, Dollmantis - Sisto, Vegas.
naranja clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle.
M. Dollmantis was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions.
Given a free kick close to the byline, naranja tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
J. Vegas slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 0 - 1, 7 minutes into the game.
The home crowd was not impressed when
R. Nascio came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 9 minutes. naranja were now up 0 - 2.
After 10 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
J. Vegas to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 3.
After this, you could see that the players of naranja were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
M. Dollmantis received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 22 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 4. The naranja fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
26 minutes into the match,
A. Urango came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide.
Halftime score was 0 - 4.
naranja claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 89 percent.
After 54 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
R. Sisto who increased naranja's lead to 0 - 5.
After 64 minutes Sr_JhonnyG's
C. Luzardo limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue.
After 64 minutes, naranja's
J. Vegas burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 6.
At that,
J. Vegas was noted down for a hat trick!
The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit
V. Bonanno just fine.
naranja players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead.
After 75 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
J. Zanassi a chance to increase the lead for naranja, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 7.
The visitors'
A. Urango took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 79 minutes into the match. 0 - 8 for naranja.
naranja were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally.
After 82 minutes, naranja's
A. Urango burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 9.
naranja enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 91 percent of possession.
V. Pulido performed admirably for Sr_JhonnyG.
However,
F. Múnera made a disastrous appearance.
naranja's best player was
J. Zanassi.
On the other hand,
M. Dollmantis's play was disheartening.
The match ends 0 - 9.
