The home crowd cheered when, after 8 minutes, B. Lozada's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. E. Reyes came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over H. Schönkamp but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. After 27 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed R. Belis to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 2. The crowd groaned when M. Pila, having maneuvered his way down the right, fired the ball just wide and missed a great opportunity to reduce the deficit for Wirpool. Bryans's J. Guillarte made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 40 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. It was 0 - 2 at the break. Wirpool claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.

The intense heat forced J. Nette into making some errors because he couldn't seem to keep up with the others. 55 minutes into the game Wirpool broke through on the left wing and M. Buzaş managed to reduce the lead to 1 - 2. After 61 minutes, Wirpool switched H. Schönkamp with T. Van Ginderen, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. Some fine passing in the middle of the pitch, carving open the away defence, should have led to a goal for Wirpool, but D. Altman's shot went over the bar. J. Somhegyi was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for Wirpool with a strike from the left, but F. Clemente managed to ward the shot off for a corner. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Wirpool's J. Somhegyi was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 74 minutes. E. Prieto was given a chance to change things around. 74 minutes into the game, S. Kunth came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. The bench was restless, and with 76 minutes passed Wirpool's coach gave J. Michael the opportunity the player had been hoping for. J. Hofkamp reluctantly left the field. Wirpool enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 73 percent of possession.

The most dominating Wirpool player was without a doubt M. Buzaş. J. Nette turned in a dismal performance, however. R. Belis performed admirably for Bryans. On the other hand, F. Clemente's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 2.
