Ruusunen, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. Golden were very close to putting themselves one up after 9 minutes as R. Byriel got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide. Golden's C. Damiani left the field after 18 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was U. Goehrke. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, R. Byriel took over the role of being the Golden captain. Golden could have put themselves ahead after 32 minutes but R. Byriel missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. 0 - 0 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Golden, with 65 percent of the ball.

Attacking on the wings was the choice for Golden, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. After some beautiful movement down the left wing, Z. Hrabčík scored for Golden putting them ahead 1 - 0, after 61 minutes. The Dado players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team. As the game started to slip away for Dado, the manager decided to change the tactical approach. The corner kick from B. Loyd was powerfully met by the head of G.
