Lemberger broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. 28 minutes into the game, Clovers seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to passable. With 32 minutes played, A. Calisti of Hennes fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Hennes's E. Galarreta increased the lead to 3 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 33 minutes. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Hennes to 4 - 0 as D. Seal finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. The players of Hennes now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. It was 4 - 0 at the break. Hennes enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.

The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that Clovers had solid organisation. The Clovers coach was desperate to reverse his team's fortunes in the game, and ordered his team to change strategy. After 46 minutes, Clovers used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. R. Ölmez wanted to play on, but the Hennes coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by C. Hunter was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 65 minutes. S. Pasanen was given a chance to change things around. Clovers's right side looked dangerous after 80 minutes, as M. Masar broke through. F. de Moll continued to stifle them, however, as he made the save look easy. 83 minutes in, Clovers appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only weak. The corner kick from A. Calisti was powerfully met by the head of C. Heide to make the score 5 - 0. After 89 minutes, Hennes were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise. L. Deutsch did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Hennes, with 59 percent of the ball.
