Canevin 3 - 2 Nickspastics (392023567)

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 42678 had shown up at Crusader Arena for the match. Agustín Urbizú was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Pedro Vaz and Bogdan Crnogorac. Canevin tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. Starters: Ruth - Kamocsai, Andresen, Ngidi - Aamodt, Bančević, Candaner, Gregurec - Düben, Gurendes, Ionescu.

Nickspastics had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players took the field: Perrot - Schreiber, Amore, Varpunen - Ali, Garruru, Balaguer, Todd, Escada - Meirelles, Banky.

With 24 minutes played H. Andresen almost gave the home side the lead with an unexpected free kick set up, but the visitors' D. Perrot was onto it, grabbing the would be breakthrough ball. Nickspastics's M. Meirelles gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 26 minutes with a superb strike from the right. After 27 minutes of play, P. Gurendes evened things up for Canevin with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 1 - 1. After 35 minutes, L. Escada sent the corner kick right to H. Schreiber who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1 - 2! With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 37 minutes played, M. Ionescu of Canevin made the score 2 - 2. It was 2 - 2 at the break. Neither team was controlling the possession at this point in the match, with the stats showing a 50:50 split.

58 minutes in, Canevin's M. Ionescu received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Nickspastics, as M. Todd left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. A. Wiaderny took his place on the field. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, A. Wiaderny took over the role of being the Nickspastics captain. Given a free kick close to the byline, Canevin tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let P. Gurendes slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 3 - 2, 68 minutes into the game. Canevin's P. Gurendes swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. B. Ruth became the hero of the day for the home crowd as he saved a penalty by L. Escada after 70 minutes. Canevin's P. Gurendes saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 73 minutes. Canevin enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.

Canevin's top performer was clearly M. Ionescu. However, S. Gregurec made a disastrous appearance. Nickspastics's best player was L. Escada. A. Wiaderny was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 2.
