It seemed as though Hennes considered the game won before even taking the field, which resulted in a very uninspired start to the game. Hennes saw most attack opportunities on the wings. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 30 minutes allowed A. Bejarano to score for Iguanas. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1. With 33 minutes played, Iguanas put themselves up 0 - 2 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was C. Ray. D. Baux of Hennes was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. A superb free kick by Hennes's A. Calisti after 40 minutes looked like it'd reduced the lead after it hit the underside of the bar and bounced down over the line, but to the fury of the home crowd the linesman missed it - no goal! P. Manana was called on to replace Hennes's P. Lemberger after 41 minutes following a nasty collision. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. Iguanas enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.

After the half time break, Hennes returned to the pitch without the complacent attitude they demonstrated during first half. The Hennes coach was desperate to reverse his team's fortunes in the game, and ordered his team to change strategy. With a penalty awarded after 63 minutes, Hennes's A. Calisti placed the ball low and to the keeper's right, impossible to block. 1 - 2. A well placed corner kick from A. Calisti was followed by P. Manana's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Hennes, the score now 2 - 2. Iguanas's T. Thomas was shown a yellow card after 80 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Unsportsmanlike behaviour by D. Baux rendered him his second booking of the match, and Hennes had to finish the game with a reduced squad. Iguanas claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.

Hennes's top performer was clearly D. Seal. P. Manana on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Iguanas player was without a doubt A. Bejarano. C. Oakley turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 2.
