Pretzels 1 - 3 Express (392024039)

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 44701 to Pretzel Palace. Richard Feral was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Caspar Haeck and Yağmur Ersun. Pretzels tactics involved an interesting 5-3-2 combination. The following players took the field: Branch - Butean, Mišović, Bruckmüller, Devine, Magin - Rocton, Andreassen, Benitez - Yun, Blackman.

Express started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Lineup: Muggiasca - Fink, Cortez, Fischkopf - Duff, Carré, Irvin, Avidano, Rapp - Sánchez Dávila, Tuzzi.

Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Pretzels. Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 21 minutes into the match, and M. Avidano wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors. With 26 minutes played, R. Fischkopf nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. With the scoreboard showing that 29 minutes had been played, Express nearly put themselves up another goal after S. Carré came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. Pretzels caught their opponents out with a clever counterattack down the right wing 30 minutes into the match. S. Yun was able to finish off the move - 1 - 1. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Express's P. Tuzzi after 35 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 1 - 2 lead. P. Tuzzi came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over A. Branch but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. After 37 minutes Pretzels tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately, S. Yun's shot sailed wide after his break down the right. Express's S. Rapp set up a perfect opportunity for C. Sánchez Dávila, but the latter failed to score. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2. Express claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 69 percent.

The home crowd cheered when, after 51 minutes, P. Tuzzi's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. Pretzels's E. Devine was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 60 minutes. N. Mišović of Pretzels received a yellow card after 73 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. With 77 minutes played, Pretzels's S. Yun found an opening in the visitors' left side defence, but his shot was handled easily by the keeper. Express's P. Tuzzi got himself booked for a foul. A penalty was awarded after 83 minutes, and C. Sánchez Dávila made the most of his chance to put Express up by another goal. 1 - 3 for the visitors. A foul called during a Pretzels counterattack resulted in a great chance to score, but N. Mišović's shot rattled off the post. S. Rapp was, after 89 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper A. Branch made the save. 89 minutes into the game, C. Sánchez Dávila had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came J. Kałus. Express enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 67 percent of possession.

S. Yun performed admirably for Pretzels. D. Bruckmüller was a disappointment, however. Express's best player was R. Fischkopf. J. Kałus on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 3.
