Clouds darkened the skies at
Matthew Field as 26457 spectators turned up for the match.
Pablo Néstor Brizuela was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Günther Kerckhof and
Axel Lelkes.
Jetz tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Casula - Butterfield, Pacheco Gomes, Corsi - Dalgas, Coluccia, Grošelj, Casabuena, Grosser Jensen - Grønli, Markfort.
Glass started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Lineup: Heitz - Canales, Pamataitis, Hunziker - Podbielski, Barthel, de Meiro, Suciu, Prodan - Kléber, Paap.
Jetz fans held their breath as
L. Coluccia scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0!
With 10 minutes played,
L. Coluccia of Jetz fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Jetz scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
H. Butterfield after 13 minutes.
L. Paap nearly reduced the lead 16 minutes into the game, but a splendid one-handed save by
A. Casula prevented the attempt coming in from the right flank from hitting the back of the net.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the Jetz coach let
L. Białecki replace
R. Grošelj after 20 minutes.
The away team improved the scoreline to 2 - 1, as
R. Podbielski struck home, set up well by a play on the left 26 minutes into the match.
After 29 minutes,
D. Casabuena put Jetz ahead 3 - 1 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
3 - 1 was the score after the first half.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Jetz, with 51 percent of the ball.
The Jetz players could smell victory in the air.
O. Dalgas wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
D. Oyarzún after 46 minutes.
The visitors replied 47 minutes into the game, reducing the home side's lead to 3 - 2, as
Z. Kléber dashed up the middle, easily lobbing the ball over the home team's keeper.
After 57 minutes, the visitors tied it up at 3 - 3 when a fantastic pass from the left was finished off by
E. Barthel.
After 62 minutes, Jetz sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
D. Oyarzún, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 4 - 3.
Glass's
L. Paap was shown a yellow card after 70 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
M. de Meiro from Glass a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 74 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Cheers filled the stadium as
D. Casabuena broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 5 - 3 to Jetz.
86 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
D. Casabuena broke through, making the score 6 - 3 for Jetz.
At that,
D. Casabuena was noted down for a hat trick!
Possession in this half belonged to Jetz, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.
Jetz's top performer was clearly
A. Pacheco Gomes.
However,
L. Białecki made a disastrous appearance.
The most dominating Glass player was without a doubt
M. de Meiro.
E. Hunziker on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 6 - 3.
