Whathaps 2 - 1 Itsnotfutball (392036466)

Clear skies welcomed the 27943 spectators who had made their way to Simply Arena. Kazek Pytko was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Lolo Hunsberger and Niklas Wahlholt. Whathaps had chosen a strategic 5-4-1 formation. They fielded: Forsblom - Valente, Lieberkind, Ciampolini, Chapoñán, Palombi - Gaffney, Dufour, Voit, Saibi - Vuoriharju.

A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Itsnotfutball. Lineup: Reinert - Viegas, Pineda, Kleiv - Linhall, Murenu, Rozentāls, Halldahl - Hoelzer, Haleba, Daviet.

Itsnotfutball used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. Whathaps's U. Voit tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. Whathaps's U. Voit got himself booked for a foul. Itsnotfutball's V. Haleba was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 29 minutes. Itsnotfutball had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 31 minutes in when J. Daviet came up alone against H. Forsblom who managed a block. The referee showed Itsnotfutball's M. Murenu the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 40 minutes allowed T. Linhall to score for Itsnotfutball. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1. With the crowd on their feet chanting wildly, some great moves down the right hand side after 42 minutes gave Whathaps a wonderful opportunity to level the score, and L. Lieberkind stepped up to the challenge. 1 - 1 Whathaps were very close to putting themselves one up after 43 minutes as D. Gaffney got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide. 1 - 1 was the halftime score. Whathaps enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.

The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to F. Dufour, but the Whathaps player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 2 - 1! S. Reinert was caught napping as G. Chapoñán lifted a ball over him following a free kick, but the ball hit the bar, rebounding into the keeper's arms. M. Murenu of Itsnotfutball got sent off for kicking the ball after the whistle, a completely uncalled for move, earning him his second yellow card of the game. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Whathaps, with 66 percent of the ball.

H. Vuoriharju performed admirably for Whathaps. D. Gaffney turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Itsnotfutball player was T. Linhall. However, A. Pineda made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 1.
