Bahia tried to focus their attacks down the middle.
The head of C. Barette
connected with a corner kick after 5 minutes, and the ball ended up with H. Chadwick
of Bahia who blasted the ball into the net, making the score 1 - 0.
Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Bahia, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity.
11 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as A. Redding
broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Bahia.
Bahia managed to extend their lead to 3 - 0 when J. Metzger
cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Bahia lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
Bahia increased the lead as J. Metzger
struck to make the score 4 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors. L. Armero
squirmed through their central defence after 24 minutes, increasing the lead to 5 - 0.
Bahia had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks.
Bahia solidified their lead at the 26 minute mark, as C. Fairchild
dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 6 - 0.
6 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Bahia had most of the ball, with 81 percent of possession.
54 minutes into the game, Bahia were awarded a penalty that L. Armero
turned into 7 - 0 without a problem.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Bahia's K. Prevot
increasing the lead to 8 - 0.
After 61 minutes of play, Bahia's D. Byrd
unexpectedly struck an inside out ball from no angle at all and A. Redding
slotted it into the net for 9 - 0.
After 63 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and H. Chadwick
gave the Bahia supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 10 - 0.
The home side's L. Armero
curled a free kick home after 64 minutes, putting Bahia ahead 11 - 0.
By then L. Armero
had scored three goals - a hat trick!
Bahia's C. Fairchild
saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 69 minutes.
Bahia claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 82 percent.
Bahia's top performer was clearly K. Prevot
was a disappointment, however.
liljaydee's best player was J. Paz
on the other hand, had a terrible day.
