Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Bahia, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. 11 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as A. Redding broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Bahia. Bahia managed to extend their lead to 3 - 0 when J. Metzger cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Bahia lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. Bahia increased the lead as J. After 63 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and H. Chadwick gave the Bahia supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 10 - 0. The home side's L. Armero curled a free kick home after 64 minutes, putting Bahia ahead 11 - 0. By then L. Armero had scored three goals - a hat trick! Bahia's C. Fairchild saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 69 minutes.
