bangles 0 - 12 Lancaster (392088468)

A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 12000 to bangles Arena. Samuel Vandersmissen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Raphaël Ledroit and Sergio Ocaranza. A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for bangles. The following players had been chosen: Coughlin - Warren, Decker, Compton, Robb - Newberry, Whitaker, Anderson, Paffarini - Willard, Boggs.

Lancaster decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. Lineup: Łapucha - Real, Carlsen, Felix - Rosstad, Velho, Floreaga, Deleon - Brandis, Vis, Goetz.

Lancaster seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. After the game, the most discussed event will probably be the penalty given after 18 minutes that gave the visitors the 0 - 1 lead. Despite the controversy, S. Rosstad struck home the penalty, as cool as anything. 21 minutes in, bangles's L. Decker received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. 30 minutes into the game, K. Anderson had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came B. Bingham. 31 minutes into the match, Lancaster's H. Deleon demonstrated his famed speed as he raced past his marker and passed the ball to A. Vis who chipped it in for 0 - 2. 32 minutes into the match, the speedy H. Deleon easily outpaced D. Warren, chipped the keeper and made the score 0 - 3. 33 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 4 as H. Deleon finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. B. Bingham of bangles was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. It was obvious that team Lancaster had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. After 41 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for B. Felix who increased Lancaster's lead to 0 - 5. The players of Lancaster now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. N. Willard of bangles received a yellow card after 43 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Lancaster players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. B. Felix received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 44 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 6. The Lancaster fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. The home crowd was not impressed when E. Floreaga came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 44 minutes. Lancaster were now up 0 - 7. Lancaster's K. Łapucha had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 44 minutes having been played. A. Tollefsen was the replacement. After 44 minutes, Lancaster's J. Goetz burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 8. 44 minutes into the match bangles's P. Compton viciously shoved another player from behind while going for a loose ball and was sent off the pitch with a red card. It was 0 - 8 at the break. Lancaster enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 81 percent of possession.

After 48 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave O. Velho a chance to increase the lead for Lancaster, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 9. A drive down the left side allowed J. Real to get in close and score another goal for Lancaster after 53 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 10. The visitors' O. Velho took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 56 minutes into the match. 0 - 11 for Lancaster. Lancaster's H. Deleon was shown a yellow card after 67 minutes for slicing down an opponent. In a fantastic display of determination, bangles's B. Bingham forced himself to his feet, after an opponent viciously knocked him down. After 72 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave O. Velho a chance to increase the lead for Lancaster, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 12. By then O. Velho had scored three goals - a hat trick! Possession in this half belonged to Lancaster, who controlled the ball 84 percent of the time.

B. Robb performed admirably for bangles. On the other hand, L. Decker's play was disheartening. Most important Lancaster player was O. Velho. A. Tollefsen was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 12.
