Nadzon struck to make the score 3 - 1 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. Morale on the visitors' bench was greatly improved when their B. Kovács reduced the lead to make it 3 - 2 after 31 minutes, following a pass from the right. 3 - 2 was the score after the first half. Deportivo had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.

T. Lipshten could have put Deportivo up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 57 minutes. 69 minutes into the game Cabezas's K. Lund Pedersen found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 3 - 3. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave K. Lund Pedersen from Cabezas a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 72 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! After 75 minutes, Cabezas's K. Lund Pedersen made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 3 - 4. Cabezas's G. Di Pietro was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box - K. Lund Pedersen managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 3 - 5 after 76 minutes. At that, K. Lund Pedersen was noted down for a hat trick! The home team's supporters got excited again when A. Vildoso broke through the visitors' central defence and caught their keeper off guard, making it 4 - 5. Deportivo enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.

Deportivo's top performer was clearly T. Lipshten. On the other hand, C. Maior's play was disheartening. Cabezas's best player was B. Kovács. I. Novella was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 5.
