46618 fans braved the pouring rain at Espantos. Carlos Machado was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Viggo Agle and Viggo van Gaal. People from all over Lima had joined up for the derby. Espantudos started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Inmensos clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. The game was characterised by rough play and many physical challenges on the wet field, but D. Appel showed great heart and had a good game. Espantudos had a chance to take the lead after A. Laurie's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 16 minutes. 25 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but Z. Skórzyński, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. 0 - 1 was the score with 31 minutes played, after A. Krasniqi cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Inmensos. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Espantudos, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.

One of many good crosses from V. Maximov on the wing was received and skillfully taken care of by A. Krasniqi, who scored for Inmensos. 0 - 2 Espantudos refused to be intimidated and, breaking through the middle, N. Sanguinetti managed to slip the ball home for 1 - 2. Espantudos tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play. A. Gárdonyi was called on to replace Espantudos's A. Evans after 69 minutes following a nasty collision. After 73 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Z. Skórzyński who increased Inmensos's lead to 1 - 3. The home side worked their way through the middle and almost got one back when N. Sanguinetti tried to sneak the ball past the keeper. S. Liorancas was too alert for that! Z. Skórzyński finished off the counterattack of Inmensos from the left rather easily, making the score 1 - 4. Espantudos enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.

N. Sanguinetti performed admirably for Espantudos. However, A. Gárdonyi made a disastrous appearance. Most important Inmensos player was Z. Skórzyński. On the other hand, T. Leykam's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 4.
