Leones had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Bertetto - Leciñana, Sérot, Hankó - Freyman, Caterisi, Upton, Blágusz, Ammazzalorso - Kuizinas, Wunderlich.
América tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Starters: Campaña - Wittenbecher, Farías, Algra - Domínguez, Pacheco, Wäckerli, Benker, Grijsaart - Maguiña, Sonoda.
Leones mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.

T. Sonoda had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide.
9 minutes into the game,
