30460 fans braved the pouring rain at
Chacla's Camp.
Bruno Creutzberg was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Federico Iacono and
Henrique Afonso.
PSC FC decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
The following players took the field: Markel - Zagidullin, Maranzoni, Domingotegui - Parada, Traverso, Bara, Schmucker, Blomberg - Valente, Koster.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Victoria.
Starters: Escorna - Nilsson, Carajulca, Eche - Burkat, Borgflod, Vaca, van Kulemborg, Camionero - Ventura, Platzer.
It was an obvious ambition of PSC FC to use their ability at attacking on the flanks.
After 10 minutes, Victoria put themselves up 0 - 1, as
Á. Ventura finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot.
Victoria came close to extending their lead as
G. Platzer delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 24 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting.
T. van Kulemborg of Victoria took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 27 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 2.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
A. Zagidullin from PSC FC a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 30 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Some fine movement on the left led to a Victoria goal after 34 minutes, making it 0 - 3.
M. Borgflod was noted down as the scorer.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Victoria lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
0 - 3 was the score after the first half.
Victoria had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.
The coach of Victoria was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 50 minutes,
A. Edasi came on for
M. Borgflod.
G. Platzer left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 51 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
F. Runesson was the replacement.
Á. Ventura received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 60 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 4. The Victoria fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
PSC FC had a brilliant opportunity to reply as
A. Domingotegui received a high ball from the right, striking the ball in the air. Only
D. Escorna's reflexes saved him.
PSC FC's
J. Traverso was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 63 minutes.
F. Runesson slipped and slithered in the wet grass. His usual rapid runs were nowhere to be seen today.
After 71 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
A. Eche to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 5.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Victoria, with 65 percent of the ball.
The most dominating PSC FC player was without a doubt
J. Parada.
On the other hand,
P. Bara's play was disheartening.
Victoria's top performer was clearly
Á. Ventura.
However,
D. Escorna made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 0 - 5.
