Clouds darkened the skies at Daorna Stadium as 30314 spectators turned up for the match. Luis Anguita was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Grzegorz Gaca and Eduardo Branquinho. Aquator had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Torres - Stibbe, Enrile, Alzerreca - Akkan, Borysiuk, Borgholz, van Wieringen, Guikema - Bozoba, Morillo.

A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for TWM. The following players took the field: Ahamdanech - Rivera, Eskerod, Kagenaar, Golds - Duvander, Zedníček, Alfonso, Vargas, Duriez - Rahbek.

Aquator seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. A free kick aimed at the keeper's far post almost gave TWM the lead 23 minutes in, but the ball just wasn't able to squirm its way through the defensive wall. The referee showed TWM's M. Duvander the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. W. Guikema made one of his many fine passes from the wing into the middle 25 minutes into the match. T. Bozoba bravely attempted to execute a diving header and the ball was met firmly with his forehead for Aquator. 1 - 0. A. Morillo could have increased the lead after 27 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0. TWM claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.

It was obvious that team Aquator had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. W. Guikema had a fantastic opportunity to put Aquator up another goal 57 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. TWM's right side looked dangerous 64 minutes in, but J. Torres made a good save on R. Eskerod's hard shot to the top corner. After 77 minutes, TWM's A. Ahamdanech fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! After 80 minutes, Aquator sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached O. van Wieringen, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 2 - 0. Aquator had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Aquator's A. Morillo increasing the lead to 3 - 0. TWM had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

T. Bozoba performed admirably for Aquator. However, O. van Wieringen made a disastrous appearance. TWM's top performer was clearly I. Zedníček. A. Ahamdanech was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 0.
