Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 43992 at Estadio da Luz today. Ünsal Altıner was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Józef Żarczyński and Víctor Pereiro. Realslb tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination. They fielded: Balcol - Reinares, Pilár - Lång, Aittoniemi, Baumlin, Alpagu, Velásquez - Matheus, Peñaloza, Barria.

Vnzl4 started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. Lineup: Secher - Jancsó, Costache, Andreasson, Sauser - Bratvold, Šavar, Villegas, Potulski, Knopper - Mezzasalma.

Realslb seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. It was an obvious ambition of Vnzl4 to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. Realslb's A. Velásquez tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. 23 minutes into the game, Realslb seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a passable level of organisation. The terraces were silenced after 36 minutes when Vnzl4's G. Costache put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right. Some fine movement on the left led to a Vnzl4 goal after 37 minutes, making it 0 - 2. A. Villegas was noted down as the scorer. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. Possession in this half belonged to Vnzl4, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.

During the break, Realslb's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to solid organisation. Realslb's E. Lång found himself alone on the left side 52 minutes into the match and laid down a perfect shot - right into the arms of the keeper! A penalty was missed by Vnzl4's R. Bratvold 55 minutes into the match. Probably overconfident, he blasted a hard shot miles outside of the left post. After 59 minutes of game time, K. Mezzasalma had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but H. Balcol was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. The home team's supporters got excited again when M. Aittoniemi broke through the visitors' central defence and caught their keeper off guard, making it 1 - 2. Realslb put pressure on the visitors' central defence 74 minutes into the game, but E. Peñaloza couldn't find an opening. H. Balcol got a fingertip on J. Potulski's shot from the left 77 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. After 78 minutes, the defensive line of Realslb created a counterattack through the middle that gave H. Alpagu a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Vnzl4's K. Knopper got himself booked for a foul. The Vnzl4 players could smell victory in the air. J. Potulski wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for A. Quero after 84 minutes. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Realslb, as H. Balcol left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. V. Frontado took his place on the field. Vnzl4 had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.

Most important Realslb player was R. Barria. On the other hand, E. Lång's play was disheartening. The most dominating Vnzl4 player was without a doubt M. Šavar. I. Secher turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 2.
