Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 96929 to
Planet Chess Stadium.
Bill Schmidgall was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Vítor Tavares and
Gelindo Boncompagni.
U-20 Honduras started off with a 2-5-3 lineup.

U-20 Bangladesh decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.

U-20 Honduras mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of U-20 Bangladesh.
The head of
M. Shakil connected with a corner kick after 4 minutes, and the ball ended up with
N. Atre of U-20 Bangladesh who blasted the ball into the net, making the score 0 - 1.
Some fine passing in the middle of the pitch, carving open the away defence, should have led to a goal for U-20 Honduras, but
A. Paz's shot went over the bar.
39 minutes into the game, U-20 Bangladesh seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
passable level of organisation.
U-20 Honduras tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play.
A counterattack by U-20 Bangladesh after 43 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but
M. Aziz, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off.
Halftime score was 0 - 1.
U-20 Honduras enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 70 percent of possession.
The U-20 Bangladesh players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a
solid organisation when the game started again.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, U-20 Honduras's
M. López Méndez was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 46 minutes.

G. Ximénez came on,
W. Bejarano had to leave the fray.
U-20 Honduras put pressure on the visitors' central defence 70 minutes into the game, but
V. Rojas couldn't find an opening.

Under heavy pressure after 87 minutes, the inexperienced U-20 Bangladesh struggled to maintain their level of play.
After 88 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as U-20 Bangladesh found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
passable.
Possession in this half belonged to U-20 Honduras, who controlled the ball 69 percent of the time.
The most dominating U-20 Honduras player was without a doubt
V. Rojas.
C. Camacho was a disappointment, however.
M. Aziz performed admirably for U-20 Bangladesh.
W. Alam on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 0 - 1.
