Dark skies made the crowd of 23925 at Scherf-Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Sascha Westhoff-Rilke was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Terje Brynildsen and Mariano Guisan. FC started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. It was obvious that FC were using their pressing skill as their primary tactic. FC's T. Drumev was shown a yellow card after 2 minutes for slicing down an opponent. After 16 minutes, following yet another great corner, S. Condemi's flick on at the near post reached F. Garber, who was just wide with his snapshot - the ball went out for a goal kick. The corner kick from T. Dikk was powerfully met by the head of K. Lupin to make the score 0 - 1. A. Nicholas received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 39 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. 41 minutes into the match, I. Breczko came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. With 42 minutes gone, Lunetiks had a free kick in a decent position. Despite this being a great chance for a shot, they tried a cheeky move intended to bypass the defence. However, S. Condemi did not manage to connect with it cleanly and the ball went out. 0 - 1 was the score after the first half. FC had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

The coach of Lunetiks was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 46 minutes, A. Tassoni came on for I. Boukhelif Yahia. The Lunetiks players could smell victory in the air. B. Schützack wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for P. Nastuzzo after 46 minutes. With 51 minutes played, FC's W. Szremski found an opening in the visitors' left side defence, but his shot was handled easily by the keeper. FC's A. Nicholas got himself booked for a foul. I. Breczko of Lunetiks had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game. D. Zayats came in to finish the match. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Lunetiks, with 51 percent of the ball.

Most important FC player was W. Szremski. However, A. Nicholas made a disastrous appearance. Lunetiks's best player was D. Zayats. P. Nastuzzo was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 1.
