19-06-2012 19.15
A scorching day at
Inferno RossoBlù, where 17500 spectators were in place for today's match.
Rob Gunnarsson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ola Olofsson and
Guy Zellweger.
Fo$$A#M@rin@rA#G@nG started off with a 5-4-1 lineup.
The following players took the field: Claverini - Girardello, Simons, Gauvin, Sessa, Juchler - Gamet, Maljković, Davì, Cárdenas - Raden.
Van_Basten tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination.
Starters: D'Ambrosio - John, Raulin, Bracci, Perna, Prada - Carotenuto, Thisted, Ortu, Frostad - Wawrowski.
Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Fo$$A#M@rin@rA#G@nG.
Today, Van_Basten's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks.
Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile
T. Simons.
It might be a while before the fans see Van_Basten's
K. Wawrowski again, after he had to leave the field in great distress at the 22 minute mark. He was replaced by
C. Voight.
After 31 minutes, Van_Basten's
P. Frostad swiftly ran past
R. Girardello and nutmegged the keeper! 0 - 1.
33 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 2 as
O. Thisted finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick.
Players in Van_Basten heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead.
With 38 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
I. Bracci of Van_Basten to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 3.
39 minutes into the game, Van_Basten worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch.
Fo$$A#M@rin@rA#G@nG's counterattacks created a good chance for
T. Simons on the right after 40 minutes, but he could only look on with dismay as his strike rebounded off the crossbar.
It was 0 - 3 at the break.
Van_Basten enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.
With 55 minutes played, the Fo$$A#M@rin@rA#G@nG coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
O. Ermel came on,
R. Girardello had to leave the fray.
The sunny day didn't make things easy for
L. Perna who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch.
After 77 minutes, Fo$$A#M@rin@rA#G@nG switched
T. Simons with
E. Arol, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
Fo$$A#M@rin@rA#G@nG didn't give in and with 83 minutes played
E. Arol was able to make the score 1 - 3 after an attack on the right.
The Van_Basten players could smell victory in the air.
P. Frostad wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
Y. Amichai after 89 minutes.
L. Perna wanted to play on, but the Van_Basten coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 89 minutes into the game by
A. Josfal.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Van_Basten, with 51 percent of the ball.
Fo$$A#M@rin@rA#G@nG's best player was
F. Gamet.
A. Claverini on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Van_Basten's top performer was clearly
D. D'Ambrosio.
T. John was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 1 - 3.
